Carol Mercer is a local artist who began painting 40 years ago in Rhode Island. Her early studies and works focused on toll painting, then watercolor and plein air. As a Florida resident, Carol spent several years studying at the Bonita Springs Art League where she shifted to oil and acrylic paint work. While in North Carolina, she was a member of the Leland Art Center and showed her work at the Juried Azalea Festival in North Carolina.

Carol currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland and is a member of the Academy of Art in Easton and RAG. In 2023 and 2024, she traveled to Croatia to study under Bernie Dellario, President of Washington Landscape Painters. In addition to painting, her long-time interest in quilting often contributes to the color and pattern choices in her art works.
